Lions & Water Aid
Lions have supported WaterAid for over 14 years, helping to provide water, sanitation and hygiene education to thousands of people and communities in some of the worlds poorest countries
Wolverhampton Lions Club have supported WaterAids porjects in Nepal and Malawi and in 2007 Wolverhampton Lions Club was honoured at the Severn Trent Community Awards for outstanding Voluntary Contribution

Over a billion people never get a clean glass of water to drink, almost 5,000 children die every day from dieases caused by unsafe water and lack of sanitation.
In 2007 Lions Clubs raised around £20,000, this was enough to help over 1,300 people take their first step out of poverty, Lions Clubs working with WaterAid has helped communities to set up, operate and maintain their own projects using low cost, appropriate technologies. All Projects combine water, sanitation and hygiene education to ensure communities gain the maximum health benefits
